Plug Flow

Plug Flow is approximated in the MFT to ensure a ‘first-in, first-out’ method of treatment. It allows for maximum organic reduction at minimum hydraulic retention times (HRT) and results in the lowest possible effluent concentrations from anaerobic treatment.
