ECOVATION ANNOUNCES OPENING OF TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT
CENTER
New Space to Provide Complete Analysis and Sample Testing for
Evaluating Clients’ Waste Streams
Ecovation, a leading developer of value-driven wastewater treatment and
renewable energy solutions, today announced the opening of its new Technology
Development Center, located in Victor, New York. The center was moved
to its new location at 111 Victor Heights Parkway, a facility that is
double in size from the previous location.
The Technical Development Center (TDC) is a state-of-the-art analytical
support facility that accepts waste streams from clients for testing with
Ecovation’s Mobilized Film Technology (MFT), an ultra high rate anaerobic
treatment process. Including a wet test lab and two climate-controlled
rooms for preservation of samples and testing, the 4,800-square-foot facility
provides complete support for potential clients’ needs. The TDC will
conduct thorough evaluations of representative waste streams submitted
by clients. This allows both parties to see how well the MFT will work
for a given effluent. The evaluation consists of:
- Complete characterization of the organic and inorganic elements
of each waste stream,
- Quantification of the energy production potential of the waste
streams and their ultimate biodegradability,
- Definition of the rates and efficiencies of conversion of the waste
stream organics to energy, clean water and agricultural biomass,
- Characterization of the effluent liquid and quantification of the
potential chemical requirements.
In conjunction with the analysis done at the TDC, clients will have
the option of trying out the MFT waste treatment on one of their streams,
either in the lab or at their own location. In the lab, the demonstration
is run on Ecovation’s bench-scale anaerobic MFT skid; the client may
also elect to have a much larger MFT treatment system brought to their
site for observation.
“The best way for our clients to understand the value of the MFT process
is to see it in action,” said Diane C. Creel, President and CEO of Ecovation.
“By thoroughly analyzing the fit between waste stream and MFT in our
labs, we can ensure that clients have the best possible experience with
MFT when they decide to test it. With our mobile MFT module, we can
take a large-scale model of the treatment process directly to the client,
giving them the opportunity to take our analysis and confirm it in the
real world.”
