ECOVATION TO CONDUCT PILOT STUDY FOR CITY OF ONEIDA, NEW YORK

Ecovation, Inc. has entered into an agreement with the City of Oneida to conduct a pilot study of its patented MFTSM (Mobilized Film Technology) at the City’s wastewater treatment plant. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate a treatment alterative that can potentially reduce operating costs and improve plant performance, while allowing the plant to accommodate regional industrial growth and expand its service area. The City currently accepts and treats low strength wastewater from a nearby dairy processor, HP Hood; however, the plant is unable to treat higher strength wastes from the dairy operations, requiring these wastes to be land applied. The City of Oneida has partnered with HP Hood and Ecovation to find a solution that frees up capacity at the wastewater treatment plant, as well as treats the high strength dairy wastewater to generate a renewable fuel source for the plant and eliminate land application.

The four-month demonstration project will begin in July 2006.
