KROFTA TECHNOLOGIES AWARDED OIL REFINERY CONTRACT

Krofta Technologies, an Ecovation company, was awarded a contract to design and build a wastewater treatment system for a major new oil refinery in Abu Dhabi. Krofta was selected by the leading international engineering and construction firm in charge of the Greenfield project.

Krofta’s DAF technologies are well suited to treat waste streams high in hydrocarbons. The system features skid-mounted Supracell DAF (dissolved air flotation) units and Sandfloat DAFF (dissolved air flotation/filtration) units that will be installed in a stacked configuration. This space-saving design minimizes the land required for wastewater treatment which reduces facility costs.

The Supracell is a state-of-the-art DAF water clarification system used in thousands of applications worldwide. It features a high output, very low retention time, and compact, space saving design. The Sandfloat DAFF combines the typically separate components of flocculation, dissolved air flotation, dual media filtration, and continuous on-line backwash into a highly efficient, single-equipment footprint.
