ECOVATION TO PROVIDE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FOR LEADING FRUIT PROCESSOR

Ecovation was awarded a contract by a leading dried fruit processor for the design-supply of anaerobic treatment and solids removal system, as an integral part of a comprehensive, onsite wastewater treatment facility. A Biotim upflow anaerobic contact (UAC) system, offered by Ecovation through an exclusive license agreement, will convert the COD in the wastewater to biogas, a renewable fuel source. A Krofta DAF (dissolved air flotation) unit will provide pretreatment of the anaerobic effluent prior to additional downstream treatment. The biogas will be used to provide heat and electricity to the facility, and the wastewater, as further treated, will be suitable for reuse.

This project is another example of Ecovation’s ability to provide unique wastewater treatment solutions to the fruit processing industry. The entire system is expected to be running by early 2007.
