KROFTA TECHNOLOGIES AWARDED PROJECT FOR DAIRY FARMERS OF AMERICA ZUMBROTA,
MN PLANT
Krofta Technologies, an Ecovation company, has been selected by Dairy
Farmers of America to install a DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) system
in its Zumbrota, MN, plant to treat FOG (fats, oils and grease), BOD
(biochemical oxygen demand) and other suspended solids.
Krofta will install a rental DAF while the permanent skid-mounted system
is manufactured, providing immediate cost savings for DFA. The company
is currently paying high surcharges to the local municipal wastewater
treatment facility because of the high strength of its waste stream.
Estimates indicate that the savings will pay for the new DAF system
in approximately one year.
In addition to the Zumbrota installation, Ecovation recently signed
contracts with Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) to operate six wastewater
treatment plants in Monnett and Cabool, MO; Lovington, NM; Sulphur Springs,
TX; Winnsboro, TX; and New Wilmington, PA. Each facility will have Ecovation
staff on site to operate and maintain existing equipment, as well as
implement new operating and asset protection programs.
