DIANE C. CREEL NAMED FINALIST FOR
SMALL BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR
Ecovation CEO recognized for corporate leadership and
growth
Ecovation CEO Diane C. Creel has been named a finalist in the Rochester
Small Business Council’s 24th annual search for Business Person
of the Year.
Creel joined Ecovation in 2003 as CEO and has helped lead the company’s
recent explosive growth as a provider of value-driven, sustainable wastewater
management and renewable energy solutions. Thanks in part to Creel’s
leadership, the company has won more contracts in the last six months
than in any prior year, including installations for Unilever, Kraft
Foods, O-AT-KA Milk Products, and CoolBrands International.
“Diane’s corporate leadership is outstanding. Her efforts
are really starting to show as we gear up to design and build more of
our wastewater treatment systems than ever before,” says Robert
Cummings, Ecovation’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to leading Ecovation’s success, Creel served as CEO and
President for Earth Tech, a California-based engineering firm that provides
solutions in global water management, transportation, engineering technology,
and environmental services. It was at Earth Tech she became the first
woman in the United States to hold CEO position of a publicly-held engineering
firm. In her 10 years as CEO of Earth Tech, the company’s annual
revenues grew from $50 million to $1.3 billion.
Creel joins eight other Rochester-area business leaders as a finalist
for Business Person of the Year. The recipient of the award will be
announced October 17, 2006 at the Rochester Small Business Council’s
annual award luncheon gala hosted by the Rochester Riverside Convention
Center.
