ECOVATION SIGNS ENGINEERING SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH CACIQUE, INC. TO PROVIDE WASTEWATER TREATMENT SERVICES

Ecovation, Inc. a developer of value-driven wastewater treatment and renewable energy solutions, signed an engineering services agreement with Cacique, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of Mexican-style cheese, cremas and chorizos, to develop an environmentally sensitive waste stream solution for its City of Industry, CA site. Under the agreement, Ecovation will complete preliminary engineering design for a system that will treat both whey permeate as well as other waste process streams. The facility will utilize Ecovation’s patented Mobilized Film Technology (MFT).

This project represents the first attempt of any food manufacturer based in the western U.S. to design a facility that mitigates its carbon footprint as prescribed by Governor Schwarzenegger’s greenhouse gas accord which will cut California’s greenhouse gas emissions by a projected 25 percent by 2020.
