Wastewater Treatment for Winery

Under a DBFO contract, Ecovation completed the inaugural installation of the MFT for the treatment of winery wastes. We installed a 2-module MFT pretreatment system to replace an aging and costly aerobic system. The new system was designed to treat a normal hydraulic flow of 100,000 gallons and 4,200 pounds of COD per day. While the production capacity of the winery had previously been constrained by the limitations of the wastewater treatment system, the MFT was a high-rate, modular system that effectively eliminated this problem. In 2001, the system was easily expanded to include a 3rd module, which increased the treatment capacity by 50%. The facility is now generating an average load and flow of over 12,000 pounds of COD and 110,000 gallons per day.
