Ecovation has constructed and licensed this facility to Anglian Water (London: AWG), which is currently operating this domestic sewage treatment facility in the United Kingdom. Anglian Water owns and operates over 1,000 domestic sewage facilities in the United Kingdom and markets wastewater treatment systems and services throughout much of the world. The facility is designed to treat domestic sewage generated by a population of 5,000 residents. This is the first successful full-scale domestic wastewater plant to use anaerobic treatment as its primary technology. Current performance is favorable with treatment meeting expectations for this cool, dilute (48 to 51°F) wastewater with minimal sludge production.
