For the past five years, Ecovation has been providing wastewater treatment and renewable energy solutions tailored to the dairy industry’s specific challenges – counting among our clients some of the largest cheese producers in the US. Our patented, high-rate anaerobic process provides an alternative to traditional disposal methods for high-strength wastes – particularly whey and lactose – generated during the cheese making process. Ecovation provides a long-term, sustainable solution, converting these waste streams to energy and, from the process, offsetting significant portions of the plant’s utility costs for cheese production.

By the end of 2007, Ecovation will contribute 2.2 billion BTUs per day of renewable energy with its installed systems in the dairy processing industry, saving $6 million in fuel costs for our clients.
